𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦 I Southwestern College of Maritime, Business and Technology Inc. successfully passed the Maritime Training Institution (MTI) inspection and evaluation with zero deficiencies, reaffirming the institution's commitment to delivering quality maritime education and training that meets national regulatory standards.
To strengthen awareness of the Spanish language and foster Filipino-Hispanic cultural exchange, Southwestern College of Maritime, Business and Technology Inc. spearheaded the 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗼 𝗛𝗶𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗼-𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗼 bringing together educators, government representatives, students, and partner organizations held at the Gabaldon Building.
Thirty top-performing incoming fourth-year students from the Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation (BSMT) and Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering (BSMarE) programs participated in an employment readiness seminar and mock interview conducted by FLIGNO in preparation for their upcoming Onboard Training (OBT).

Students of Southwestern College of Maritime, Business and Technology Inc. (SCMBT) recently participated in the 𝗗𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘀 𝗱𝗲 𝗘𝘀𝗽𝗮ñ𝗼𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗼 𝗟𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗮 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗷𝗲𝗿𝗮 (𝗗𝗘𝗟𝗘) 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 examination, an internationally recognized Spanish language proficiency assessment administered exclusively worldwide by the 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗼 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲𝘀 on behalf of the Spanish Ministry of Education.
Creating more opportunities for maritime students and graduates, Southwestern College of Maritime, Business and Technology Inc. conducted a company visitation at Interworld Shipping Corporation to further discuss industry partnerships, onboard training opportunities, and advancements in cadet monitoring systems.

BSHM and DHTM students are currently undergoing their OJT 1 – Restaurant Practicum, where classroom learning meets hands-on industry experience in the field of hospitality and service. A heartfelt thanks to our valued training partners, Plato Restaurant, Bungkos Restaurant, Ten 2 One Bar, and Filipiniana Hotel, for generously opening their doors and providing meaningful training opportunities to my students.
"Compass of Excellence: Navigating the Futures of Maritime, Tourism, Hospitality, and Entrepreneurship". A moment of pride and achievement was celebrated as the BSHM and BSTM 4th Year students of SCMBT held their Graduation Ceremony last May 6, 2026 at Café Angela, San Antonio, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro.
𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 I Students from Diploma Programs and Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management during their Basic Training at Capipisa, Tanza, Cavite.
Aimed at enhancing safety awareness, emergency response capabilities, and a strong sense of personal responsibility, college students from various programs of Southwestern College of Maritime and Business Technology (SCMBT) are currently undergoing Basic Training at Capipisa, Tanza, Cavite.
Learning goes beyond the classroom! The Southbound Tour in Oriental Mindoro was a perfect blend of eco-adventure, agri-tourism, and gastronomic experiences. From caves to farms, every stop was a lesson in real-world tourism and culture.
The BSTM 2nd Year students successfully organized the “Southbound Tour in Oriental Mindoro: Eco-Adventure, Agri-Tourism and Gastronomical Experiences” held last April 16, 2026, with BSTM and BSHM 1st Year students as participants.
Ideas were shared. Creativity was unleashed. Innovation came to life. Kudos to the 3rd Year DHTM, BSHM, and BSTM students for successfully presenting their Final Requirement in the topic Creativity and Innovation in the Business as part of the Subject, Quality Service Management in the Hospitality and Tourism Industry
Celebrating excellence, talent, and achievement at the Skills Competition Awarding Ceremony, held last April 15, 2026, as part of the H.I.P.E.A.K 3-Day Culminating Program of the BSHM, BSTM, and DHTM Departments! The awarding ceremony recognized the outstanding performances and hard work of students who showcased their skills across various competitions.
The Hospitality Initiative on Professional Empowerment and Applied Knowledge (H.I. P.E.A.K) 3-Day Culminating Program of the BSHM, BSTM, and DHTM Departments, held last April 15, 2026, was a resounding success.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 I As part of the Opening Block Activity, Grade 11 and Grade 12 students participated in the 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗮𝘆 held at SCMBT Annex Building Covered Court, June 18.
The event aimed to strengthen camaraderie among students, boost their confidence, and encourage active participation in school organizations and leadership programs. It also provided an opportunity for learners to interact with their peers and teachers in a fun and meaningful environment.
𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 I Senior High School (SHS) students gathered for a Health, Safety, and Well-Being Program, a full-day activity aimed at preparing students for a safe, healthy, and productive academic year held at SCMBT Annex Covered Court.
Accompanied by Sir Zaldy D. Andal, SHS-OIC Principal, Major Jonny V. Magluyan, Discipline Officer and Sir Bern E. Alvis, the students embarked on a five-day maritime journey from December 9 to 13, navigating the route from Manila to Cebu, then to Ozamis to Butuan, and back to Manila.
