Behind every number lies a story, and behind every statistic is an opportunity to understand our nation better.
Southwestern College of Maritime, Business and Technology, Inc. (SCMBT) welcomed the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Oriental Mindoro for an Information Dissemination Symposium held on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM, in celebration of the 37th National Statistics Month.
Carrying the theme “Tuklas Pilipinas: Statistics as Beacon Towards Inclusive, Resilient, and Sustainable Tourism,” the symposium emphasized the importance of reliable statistics and accurate data in understanding population trends, supporting informed decision-making, and promoting sustainable national development.
Through this informative session, SCMBT students gained a deeper appreciation of how statistics go beyond numbers—they serve as valuable tools for understanding communities, guiding progress, and shaping a better future.
SCMBT extends its appreciation to PSA – Oriental Mindoro for sharing its knowledge and expertise with the SCMBT community. May this initiative continue to inspire students to value data, embrace informed perspectives, and become responsible contributors to society.
