Office of the Student Affairs and Services

The Southwestern College of Maritime, Business and Technology Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS) is an administrative unit of the college that is within the supervision of the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA). The OSAS is responsible for the development and implementation of various programs and services that focus on the nonacademic aspects of the student’s life in the college such as the acquisition of values and skills for a lifelong learning. These student-centered activities and services that compliment academic instruction are anticipated to support holistic student development for active involvement in nation building. The Student Affairs and Services of the college is composed of student welfare and development programs and services.

Objectives

• Provide counseling and testing to students so that they may recognize and accept themselves and develop their potentials/capabilities;

• Provide information, training, placement and follow-up services to students, graduates and other clienteles;

• Provide financial assistance to the needy and deserving students;

• Provide avenues to hone students’ talents and interest to ensure social and cultural growth; and

• develop skills and potentials of student writers
