Aiming to support the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) No. 4 (Quality Education) and No. 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), Southwestern College of Maritime, Business & Technology Inc. participated in the Maritime Education and Training Workshop 2025 at the Parklane International Hotel, Cebu City, Philippines, last November 20-21, 2025.

This rare and spectacular event was spearheaded by MARINA (Maritime Industry Authority) in collaboration with the International Association of Maritime Universities (IAMU). Out of eighty-four (84) Recognized MHEIs (Maritime Higher Education Institutions), seventy-nine (79) schools sent their honorable delegates to represent their institutions.

A showcase and exchange of rich best practices were initiated by a group of Maritime University Experts and Professors from around the globe. The two-day momentous event was filled with innovative strategies, approaches, methods, and techniques, aiming to develop each institution's curriculum delivery and instruction, as well as the educators' academic performance and efficiency.

In a nutshell, it not only built collaboration but also marked the start of a milestone toward a more lasting and thriving partnership, empowering the ties between IAMU, MARINA, and Philippine MHEIs in the years to come.
