NEWS | SCMBT Brings Joy and Compassion to Elders at Hapag Aruga Foundation
Embodying the theme, βπππ πππππ© π€π πΎππ§ππ¨π©π’ππ¨ ππππ£ππ¨ πππ§π€πͺππ πΎππ§π,β Southwestern College of Maritime, Business and Technology Inc. spread warmth and compassion to the elders of Hapag Aruga Foundation Inc. in Managpi, Calapan City, through an outreach program held on November 7.
The activity, participated in by BSTM, BSHM, and DHTM students under the leadership of Dr. Paul Arvin D. Fernandez, Chief Operating Officer of the institution, aimed to bring happiness and companionship to the elderly residents of the foundation as the Christmas season draws near.
The day was filled with laughter, music, and meaningful interactions, as students presented intermission numbers, facilitated fun games, and shared lunch and bonding moments with the elders. To cap off the celebration, the team distributed simple gifts, bringing smiles and heartfelt gratitude from the residents.
Through this activity, the SCMBT community demonstrated that the true essence of Christmas lies not in grand celebrations but in acts of kindness, love, and care for others. The event served as a reminder that sharing time and compassion can illuminate the lives of others, just as the light of Christmas continues to shine through every caring heart.
