In line with its commitment to transparency and accountability, Southwestern College of Maritime, Business and Technology Inc. recently underwent an onsite orientation and liquidation activity conducted by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) for the grants under the Unified Student Financial Assistance System for Tertiary Education (UniFAST) programs, namely the Tulong Dunong Program (TDP) and the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES).
The said activity, spearheaded by CHED, aimed to guide Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) like SCMBT in ensuring the proper utilization and liquidation of government funds allocated for student financial assistance. The orientation provided updates on guidelines and documentation processes, while the onsite liquidation allowed CHED to review financial reports, disbursement records, and other supporting documents to verify the appropriate use of funds.
During the activity, SCMBT presented all the required financial and documentary reports to CHED representatives, demonstrating its adherence to the policies and protocols set by UniFAST.
SCMBT expressed its gratitude to CHED for the guidance and support, and reaffirmed its commitment to uphold transparency, integrity, and accountability in managing government resources for student assistance programs.
