In a collaborative effort to promote inclusivity, resilience, and preparedness, students from the College and Senior High School departments of Southwestern College of Maritime, Business and Technology Inc. joined forces for a comprehensive Basic Life Support (BLS) Training held at SCMBT Annex Covered Court.

The initiative equipped participants with vital life-saving skills such as Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and the Heimlich Maneuver, preparing them to confidently respond to medical emergencies. By learning these essential techniques, students are now better positioned to safeguard their peers and contribute to a safer school environment.

Spearheading the training were 𝗠𝘀. 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮 𝗔𝗻𝗻 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗼 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗼𝘀𝗼 𝗔ñ𝗼𝗻𝘂𝗲𝘃𝗼, Licensed Psychometrician and Guidance Counselor, and 𝗠𝗿. 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻 𝗥𝗼𝘅𝗮𝘀, Health Program Officer II. Their expertise and guidance empowered students to realize the critical role they can play in protecting lives—not only within the school but also in the wider community.

The program highlights the institution’s strong commitment to fostering a culture of care and preparedness, proving that education extends beyond academics. With BLS skills in hand, students are now equipped to be proactive responders, embodying the values of service and solidarity.
