In a continued effort to combat the rising threat of illegal drug use among the youth, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Calapan City, conducted a comprehensive Drug Prevention Symposium among first year college students of Southwestern College of Maritime, Business and Technology Inc. (SCMBT), held at the SCMBT Covered Court, April 26.

Leading the discussions were Intelligence Officer I Elma Elacion and Mr. Niño Arvin T. Bagon, both of whom brought years of field experience and advocacy to the discussion. Their presentations focused on three critical areas: the most commonly used illegal drugs in the Philippines, the harmful effects of these substances on health and life, and the legal violations and sanctions that come with drug-related offenses.

Designed to be both educational and preventive, the symposium aimed to empower students with the knowledge to make informed choices and steer clear of drug-related activities.
