Event 7 of SY '26 - '27: Aug. 29, 2026
More than a competition, Lakan at Lakambini ng SCMBT was a meaningful celebration of our Filipino identity, where our candidates showcased their talent, wit, confidence, grace, and appreciation for the rich culture and traditions of the Philippines. With every performance, question, and presentation, our candidates proudly represented the beauty of being a Filipino and reminded us that true beauty goes beyond appearance.it is found in character, knowledge, confidence, and love for our culture.
Aug. 28, 2016, the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management celebrated Linggo ng Wika 2026 with activities prepares, for the students. The success of the celebration would not have been possible without the dedication, creativity, and hard work of the BSHM 4th Year, BSTM 4th Year, and DHTM 3rd Year students under the class of Mr. Jonar Jake Cantos, as part of their subject, Introduction to M.I.C.E. From planning and preparation to the actual execution of the activities, our students poured their time, effort, talents, and teamwork into making this celebration a memorable and meaningful one.

As part of our Linggo ng Wika Celebration 2026, the Food Festival: Piyestang Pinoy brought the rich flavors, vibrant traditions, and colorful heritage of the Philippines to life through an unforgettable culinary experience amd set up.
Event 5 of SY '26 - '27: Aug. 14, 2026
The SCMBT 2026 ASEAN Month Celebration, organized by the College of Maritime Department, in joint collaboration with our department, the College of Hospitality and Tourism, brought together students in a meaningful celebration of ASEAN spirit and camaraderie. Our BS Tourism Management and BS Hospitality Management students proudly showcased their knowledge, creativity, confidence, and talent across the different activities.
Event 3 of SY '26 - 27: July 6, 206
The BSHM 4th Year and BSTM 3rd Year students actively participated in an enriching orientation held at Gabaldon Hall, Oriental Mindoro National High School (OMNHS), featuring representatives from the Spanish Embassy in Manila and Instituto Cervantes de Manila.
Event 2 of SY '26 - '27: July 3, 2026
As we celebrated Nutrition Month last July, the BSHM, BSTM and DHTM departments had an activity that highlighted the importance of making healthy choices, not only for our well-being today, but also for the future we are building. And to emphasize the beginning of Nutrition Month to the HM, TM and DHTM students, one of the SCMBT College Sports Coordinators, Mr. Orly Romiral, led an insightful talk on the importance of proper nutrition, a balanced diet, and regular exercise.

A productive and insightful day as our BSHM and BSTM students were introduced to the laboratory environment, safety protocols, proper equipment handling, and the essential practices needed for hands-on learning for HM, TM and DHTM students conducted by Ms. Olive Lastimosa, SHS and DHTM teacher.
Event 1 of SY '26 - '27: Jul. 3, 2026
The 1st General Meeting of the BSHM, BSTM, and DHTM students was successfully held at the SCMBT Annex, marking the beginning of another exciting academic year in the Department of Hospitality and Tourism.
BSHM and DHTM students are currently undergoing their OJT 1 – Restaurant Practicum, where classroom learning meets hands-on industry experience in the field of hospitality and service. A heartfelt thanks to our valued training partners, Plato Restaurant, Bungkos Restaurant, Ten 2 One Bar, and Filipiniana Hotel, for generously opening their doors and providing meaningful training opportunities to my students.
"Compass of Excellence: Navigating the Futures of Maritime, Tourism, Hospitality, and Entrepreneurship". A moment of pride and achievement was celebrated as the BSHM and BSTM 4th Year students of SCMBT held their Graduation Ceremony last May 6, 2026 at Café Angela, San Antonio, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro.
𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 I Students from Diploma Programs and Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management during their Basic Training at Capipisa, Tanza, Cavite.
Aimed at enhancing safety awareness, emergency response capabilities, and a strong sense of personal responsibility, college students from various programs of Southwestern College of Maritime and Business Technology (SCMBT) are currently undergoing Basic Training at Capipisa, Tanza, Cavite.
Learning goes beyond the classroom! The Southbound Tour in Oriental Mindoro was a perfect blend of eco-adventure, agri-tourism, and gastronomic experiences. From caves to farms, every stop was a lesson in real-world tourism and culture.
The BSTM 2nd Year students successfully organized the “Southbound Tour in Oriental Mindoro: Eco-Adventure, Agri-Tourism and Gastronomical Experiences” held last April 16, 2026, with BSTM and BSHM 1st Year students as participants.
Ideas were shared. Creativity was unleashed. Innovation came to life. Kudos to the 3rd Year DHTM, BSHM, and BSTM students for successfully presenting their Final Requirement in the topic Creativity and Innovation in the Business as part of the Subject, Quality Service Management in the Hospitality and Tourism Industry
Celebrating excellence, talent, and achievement at the Skills Competition Awarding Ceremony, held last April 15, 2026, as part of the H.I.P.E.A.K 3-Day Culminating Program of the BSHM, BSTM, and DHTM Departments! The awarding ceremony recognized the outstanding performances and hard work of students who showcased their skills across various competitions.
The Hospitality Initiative on Professional Empowerment and Applied Knowledge (H.I. P.E.A.K) 3-Day Culminating Program of the BSHM, BSTM, and DHTM Departments, held last April 15, 2026, was a resounding success.
Fun, laughter, and unity filled the air during the Recreational Activities, Games, and Raffle Draw! As part of the H.I.P.E.A.K 3-Day Culminating Program of the BSHM, BSTM, and DHTM Departments last April 15, 2026, students enjoyed exciting games and won amazing raffle prizes generously given away through the courtesy of Doc Joy.
Flavor, creativity, and culinary excellence took the spotlight at the “Pulutan” Showdown! As part of the Skills Competition during the H.I.P.E.A.K 3-Day Culminating Program of the BSHM, BSTM, and DHTM Departments, the BSHM and DHTM students showcased their culinary skills through mouthwatering and creatively prepared “pulutan” dishes.
Culinary passion came alive at the “Pasta-Live Cooking Contest”! As part of the Skills Competition during the H.I.P.E.A.K 3-Day Culminating Program of the BSHM, BSTM, and DHTM Departments, the BSHM students showcased their creativity, precision, and culinary expertise through flavorful and beautifully prepared pasta dishes.
Creativity and fun came together at the “Fruit Face/Emoji Challenge”! As part of the Skills Competition during the H.I.P.E.A.K 3-Day Culminating Program of the BSHM, BSTM, and DHTM Departments, the BSHM and DHTM students showcased their artistic skills, imagination, and teamwork by transforming fruits into colorful and expressive face or emoji-inspired creations.

As part of the Skills Competition during the H.I.P.E.A.K 3-Day Culminating Program of the BSHM, BSTM, and DHTM Departments, the BSHM students showcased their culinary talents through flavorful and creatively prepared “Si-Log” dishes.

As part of the Skills Competition during the H.I.P.E.A.K 3-Day Culminating Program of the BSHM, BSTM, and DHTM Departments, the BSTM students showcased their communication skills, poise, clarity, and passion for the tourism and aviation industry.
Strong Minds, Strong Hands: Preparing the Hospitality and Tourism Students for Real-World Challenges
As part of the 3-Day Culminating Event of the BSHM, BSTM, and DHTM programs, students attended the seminar entitled, “Strong Minds, Strong Hands: Preparing the Hospitality and Tourism Students for Real-World Challenges" last April 13, 2026. Through the expertise of our guest speaker, Ms. Zaralyn B. Santos, a registered clinical psychologist, students were encouraged to strengthen both mindset and skills as they prepare for the demands of the industry.
Celebrating the successful opening of the Hospitality Initiative on Professional Empowerment and Applied Knowledge (H.I.P.E.A.K) 3-Day Culminating Program of the BSHM, BSTM and DHTM held last April 13, 2026! Anchored on the theme, “Strong Minds, Strong Hands: Preparing Hospitality and Tourism Students for Real World Challenges,” the event highlighted the importance of resilience, knowledge, and practical skills in shaping future hospitality and tourism professionals.
