Southwestern College of Maritime, Business and Technology Inc. (SCMBT) explored potential career opportunities for its Diploma in Ship Maintenance and Repair (DSMR) students during a visit to MTM Crew Management Philippines.
Representing SCMBT was ๐ฎ/๐ ๐๐ผ๐ต๐ป ๐ฅ๐ต๐ผ๐บ๐ฒ ๐.๐. ๐ ๐ฎ๐บ๐ฎ๐ป๐ด๐ผ๐ป, ๐๐๐๐ถ๐๐๐ฎ๐ป๐ ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ป ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ข๐๐ง ๐ฆ๐๐ฝ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ถ๐๐ผ๐ฟ, who attended the meeting together with three selected DSMR students namely Raven Riva, Nazzer Sari, and Joven Villanueva.
The discussion centered on the Fitter Trainee Program offered by MTM Crew Management Philippines, which provides an opportunity for qualified DSMR students to gain relevant industry exposure and pursue a potential career pathway in the maritime sector.
During the meeting, representatives discussed the programโs selection process, including the examination and interview stages that applicants must undergo. The required documents and qualifications for prospective trainees were also presented to help students prepare for the application process.
The discussion further highlighted the possible career paths and employment opportunities available to successful trainees, as well as opportunities that may be extended to succeeding batches of DSMR students.
Through the engagement, SCMBT and MTM Crew Management Philippines strengthened their industry-academe collaboration, while providing DSMR students with a clearer understanding of career opportunities aligned with their training, competencies, and future professional development.
