To enhance leadership skills, teamwork, and strategic thinking, Southwestern College of Maritime, Business and Technology Inc. (SCMBT) conducted a two-day Leadership Training Program at the SCMBT Annex Covered Court, gathering officers from various student organizations.
The first day featured sessions on self-leadership, student leadership pillars, effective communication, and active listening, followed by a workshop on conflict resolution and decision-making. These activities were spearheaded by Ma’am Judith Mae R. Zamora, OSA Coordinator. The day ended with a reflection circle where participants shared key insights.
Day two focused on team building and strategic leadership, facilitated by guest speaker Michelle B. Luzon, MBA. She led sessions on Team Dynamics and Collaboration and Vision Casting and Goal Setting, helping participants strengthen teamwork and set clear goals. A highlight of the day was the Leadership Challenge: The Mission Race, which tested leadership, cooperation, and strategy. Students also joined a commitment activity, “Letter to My Future Self,” before the awarding and closing ceremony.
Through this training, SCMBT aims to equip its student leaders with essential leadership and teamwork skills, preparing them to be responsible and effective leaders in their respective organizations and communities.
