๐ก๐๐ช๐ฆ I Faculty members of Southwestern College of Maritime, Business, and Technology Inc. (SCMBT) actively participated in the Research Colloquium organized by the Divine Word College of Calapan (DWCC) Graduate School, held at Calapan City Convention Center, October 25.
The event, titled โ๐๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐น ๐จ๐ฝ ๐ญ๐ญ: ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฐ๐ต ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐๐ ๐ฐ๐ฒ๐น๐น๐ฒ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒโ๐๐ฑ๐๐ฎ๐ป๐ฐ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ป๐ผ๐๐น๐ฒ๐ฑ๐ด๐ฒ, ๐๐น๐ฒ๐๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ฆ๐๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฑ๐, ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ง๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ป๐๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ๐บ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ผ๐บ๐บ๐๐ป๐ถ๐๐ถ๐ฒ๐,โ showcased selected theses and dissertations completed by graduates of the Master of Arts in Education (MAED) and Doctorate programs.
Among the presenters was ๐ฆ๐ถ๐ฟ. ๐ญ๐ฎ๐น๐ฑ๐ ๐. ๐๐ป๐ฑ๐ฎ๐น, OIC-Principal of the Senior High School Department and SCMBT faculty member, who presented his research titled โTalaaklat ng mga Teknikal na Bokabularyo: Tugon sa Mabisang Pagkatuto ng Mag-aaral sa TVL Track Maritime Specialization.โ His study highlighted the importance of developing specialized vocabulary references to enhance the learning experience of students in the Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL) Maritime track.
The colloquium featured distinguished keynote speakers who shared valuable insights on research development and its role in societal transformation. Dr. Casper B. Agaton delivered the first keynote address, โGraduate Research for Knowledge Advancement: Concepts, Methods, and Directions,โ emphasizing that graduate-level research should now embrace interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary approaches to address complex real-world issues.
Meanwhile, Dr. Mark Angelo Balendres delivered the second keynote speech titled โFrom Research to Reality: Elevating Standards and Transforming Communities for Sustainable Impact.โ He underscored the vital link between academic research and its practical application in community development, calling on educators and scholars to produce studies that create tangible benefits for society.
The said colloquium provided a meaningful opportunity for SCMBT faculty members to engage in scholarly exchange and contribute to the broader academic community. Through active participation in such research-oriented activities, SCMBT reaffirms its commitment to nurturing a culture of inquiry, innovation, and professional growth while empowering educators and students alike to pursue excellence in their respective fields and create meaningful impact in society.
