To equip them with the essential skills and competencies for their onboard training, the second batch of third-year students from the Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering (BSMarE) and Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation (BSMT) programs is currently undergoing an intensive 8-day package training at Pentagon Maritime Services Corporation in Manila, from May 14 to May 21.
This comprehensive training prepares the students for their duties aboard ships by covering four essential courses required of seafarers: Crowd Crisis Management (CCM), Seafarers with Designated Security Duties (SDSD), Ratings Forming Part of a Navigational Watch (RFPNW), and Ratings Forming Part of an Engineering Watch (RFPEW).
The students are supervised by 2/M John Rhome Mamangon, Onboard Training (OBT) Supervisor, and Major Jonny Magluyan.
