In a celebration of eloquence and passion, Joross Casas, a second year Marine Engineering Student captivated the audience at the 18th National Oratorical Contest, earning a coveted spot as one of the Top 10 finalists held at AMOSUP Hall Convention Hall, Intramuros Manila, September 24.
The said contest was participated by 22 schools nationwide offering Maritime Education. This was part of the celebration of the 29th National Seafarersβ Day with the theme βMarinong Filipino: Ligtas na Paglalayag."
Accompanying him was Maβam Judith Mae R. Zamora who served as his coach. Meanwhile, a second-year Marine Transportation student Mr. Weshley Guaves took part in the art contest, with results expected to be announced next week.
Casas received a cash prize and a certificate of recognition.
