In a commitment to enhance research culture and practices, faculty members and key officials from Southwestern College of Maritime, Business and Technology attended the Research Colloquium Level-Up 8 of the Divine Word College of Calapan held at Calapan City Convention Center last October 19.
The theme, "Multidisciplinary Research Horizons Toward Sustainable Development," featured the presentation of ten research papers.
One notable presenter was Ms. Sherlyn Maranan, the Department Head of Hospitality Management, who showcased her research titled โA Strategic Management Paper on Southwestern College of Maritime Business and Technology Inc.โ
During the discussion on community service, Sir Jhon Rhome Mamangon, OBT Supervisor, raised a question about preserving culture in the face of digitization. This was addressed by Fr. Ross Heruela, SVD, MA, SThL.
At the conclusion of the plenary sessions, participants were invited to share their insights. Dr. Marivic D. Fernandez, Vice President, emphasized how research can contribute to both national and international development while fostering a culture of collaboration and learning.
