In line with the celebration of its 23rd Founding Anniversary, the institution carried out a meaningful Outreach Program at the BJMP Calapan City District Jail, bringing encouragement, joy, and a renewed sense of hope to the Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs).

The outreach initiative was led by Dr. Vilma Manansala, Research and Development Officer; C/E Erdie P. Taganguin, Dean of College of Maritime Education; and Ms. Judith Mae R. Zamora, OSA Coordinator, together with Department Heads, Teaching, and Non-Teaching Staff.

The program opened with a message from Jail Officer 2 Jackelyn L. Gaco, Chief, Welfare and Development Officer and KKDK Facilitator, who expressed her gratitude to SCMBT and other institutions that consistently extend care and compassion to the PDLs. She emphasized that such initiatives remind the PDLs that they are not forgotten and that there are people and institutions that genuinely care about their welfare and rehabilitation.

A series of interactive games and activities followed, creating a lively and uplifting atmosphere inside the facility. SCMBT also provided meals and distributed simple grocery items as tokens of support for the PDLs. Adding to the significance of the event, the PDLs presented an intermission number, showcasing their talents and expressing their appreciation to the organizers and guests.

The outreach program concluded with a closing message from JSINSP Rodante P. Cayabyab, Acting District Jail Warden, who thanked SCMBT for choosing the BJMP District Jail as a partner in celebrating its milestone anniversary.

Through this outreach program, SCMBT reaffirmed its mission of service, compassion, and inclusivity, proving that its anniversary celebration extends beyond commemoration and into meaningful action that touches lives and inspires hope within the community.
