Southwestern College of Maritime, Business and Technology Inc. (SCMBT) participated in the TES Congress 2025, held at Occidental Mindoro State College (OMSC) from January 15-16, 2026, with the theme βππ-ππππΌππππΌ π¨π π½πππ€π£π πππ‘ππ₯ππ£ππ¨: πππ’π-π¨ππ’ππ£π π½πππππͺπππ£ ππ£π πππ£πππͺπ ππ¨ππ£.β
The congress was organized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED)βMIMAROPA, in partnership with the Unified Student Financial Assistance System for Tertiary Education (UNIFAST), and gathered TES grantees and representatives from higher education institutions across the region.
The congress opened with a Color Fun Run, promoting wellness, camaraderie, and active participation among TES grantees. SCMBT also joined the Film Making Competition with its entry titled βDaluyong,β which featured one of the stories of a CHED TES grantee. The institution also earned recognition in the On-the-Spot Digital Photography Contest, with Weshley Guaves placing Second in the Portraiture category and Third in the Landscape category.
Aside from competitions, SCMBT delegates participated in the Training and Workshops on Digital Photography and Film Making and Editing conducted during the congress. Participating schools were formally recognized by CHED MIMAROPA, led by Prof. Edna Imelda F. Legazpi, Regional Director, during the awarding ceremonies.
