𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦 | DOST, SCMBT Ink MOA for STARBOOKS Integration
Department of Science and Technology (DOST) has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Southwestern College of Maritime, Business and Technology Inc. for the integration of 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗥𝗕𝗢𝗢𝗞𝗦 into the institution’s library.
STARBOOKS, which stands for Science and Technology Academic and Research-Based Openly Operated KioskS, is an interactive digital library system developed by the Science and Technology Information Institute (STII), an attached agency of DOST. The system provides access to a wide range of science and technology resources, even without internet connectivity, making it a valuable tool for students and researchers.
Prior to the MOA signing, an information drive was conducted to introduce the system and its features. During the session, Jesmine Mikaela S. Cuasay explained the purpose, functions, and benefits of STARBOOKS.
The formal signing ceremony was led by Armando S. Fernandez, CEO/President of the institution, together with Ma’am Monina Krishia Bautista, Librarian II and Sir Philip Lawrence V. Collera, representative of DOST, marking the official implementation of the partnership.
The collaboration aims to enhance access to scientific knowledge and digital learning resources within the institution, supporting academic development and innovation among students.
