Showcasing its commitment to delivering high-quality, credible training and assessment, Southwestern College of Maritime Business and Technology Inc. (SCMBT) successfully passed its compliance audit conducted by the TESDA Audit Team last March 24-25.
The first day of the audit focused on two of the college’s registered programs: Cookery NC 2 and Bread and Pastry Production NC 2. The TESDA Audit Team meticulously evaluated key areas such as administrative requirements, physical infrastructure, assessment methodologies and procedures, and assessment documentation and reporting. SCMBT was found to be fully compliant in all these areas, ensuring that the programs meet national standards and continue to equip students with the essential skills needed for success in the culinary industry.
On the second day, the TESDA Audit Team also evaluated the college’s eight accredited assessment centers, covering programs in Cookery NC 2, Front Office Services NC 2, Bartending NC 2, Ship’s Catering Services NC 1, Plumbing NC 1 and NC 2, and Shielded Metal Arc Welding NC 1 and NC 2. These centers underwent thorough scrutiny in relation to TESDA’s standards for assessment procedures, physical infrastructure, administrative processes, and documentation. The audit results confirmed that all eight assessment centers were fully compliant with TESDA’s rigorous requirements, further ensuring the credibility of the certifications issued to students.
With this successful audit, SCMBT solidifies its position as a reliable and trusted institution for TESDA, reinforcing its dedication to upholding high educational standards and ensuring students are well-equipped with the skills necessary to thrive in their respective careers.
