SCMBT Welcomes CHED-MARINA Inspection and Evaluation Team
Southwestern College of Maritime Business and Technology, warmly welcomed the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) Inspection and Evaluation Team for a four-day audit, taking place from October 14-18.
This is in accordance with the memorandum of joint CHED-MARINA monitoring of maritime education programs, marking a significant step in ensuring that SCMBT upholds the highest standards in maritime education and training.
The inspection and evaluation team will evaluate key areas such as the quality standards system, curriculum, teaching methods and media of delivery, examination and assessment system, faculty, admission and retention, facilities and training equipment, shipboard training and research and extension.
As the audit has just begun, SCMBT is committed to working closely with CHED and MARINA to address the recommendations provided and implement changes that will benefit Southwesternians---a stepping stone toward maintaining a world-class maritime education system that empowers the next generation of maritime professionals.
