𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦 I Career Guidance Seminar Inspires Grade 12 Students to Turn Passion into Profession
Grade 12 students of Southwestern College of Maritime, Business, and Technology Inc. (SCMBT) gathered for an insightful career guidance seminar focused on preparing them for life beyond senior high school, February 12.
The session was led by Ma’am Paola Mortilla, SCMBT’s Human Resource Officer, who shared valuable perspectives on the difference between simply having a job and building a meaningful career. She emphasized that while a job may simply be a means to earn a living, a career should be something one genuinely cares about and is willing to pursue with dedication and purpose.
More than just a lecture, the seminar served as a roadmap for the students’ next steps beyond senior high school. Participants were encouraged to develop self-awareness and is fueled by passion rather than solely by financial need.
The event also bridged the gap between classroom learning and real-world expectations, helping students gain clarity in choosing the right educational pathway and encouraging them to set SMART goals as they actively prepare to step confidently into the future.
