Incoming third-year students from the Marine Transportation and Marine Engineering programs have officially commenced their Basic Training at Capipisa, Tanza, Cavite.
The said training is being facilitated by key academic and maritime training personnel, including 2M John Rhome E.J. Mamangon, Assistant Dean and OBT Supervisor; 2M Rummel R. Tizon, Program Chair for Marine Transportation; 2M Bryan P. Dela Luna, Assessor; and 4E Vonn Martinus P. Pantoja, Marine Engineering Facilitator.
As a crucial requirement for maritime students, this training equips participants with essential knowledge and practical skills needed for their future careers at sea. It covers core safety and survival courses such as Personal Survival Techniques, Elementary First Aid, Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting, and Updated Personal Safety and Social Responsibility.
Through this hands-on training, students are expected to develop discipline, preparedness, and competence in handling emergency situations, aligning with international maritime safety standards.
