In an effort to address the rising cases of HIV in the community, an initiative from Health and Welfare Council for Students (HAWCS) led by their adviser, Maรกm Maricel Oberio hosted an informative seminar on HIV and AIDS Awareness held at Annex Covered Court, October 12.
The said seminar was attended by 1st Year BSMT and BSMarE students taking Civic Welfare and Training Service on their National Service Training Program.
Featuring Sir Leo Cuya from Purple Rain Clinic as the keynote speaker, it aimed to educate participants about the importance of having awareness on HIV and AIDs.
Key topics addressed during the seminar included how HIV is transmitted, effective prevention methods, and safe sex practices. By engaging students in these vital discussions, the initiative aimed to empower them with knowledge to combat stigma and promote a healthier community.
Participants left with valuable insights and a commitment to spread awareness in their networks, fostering a more informed and proactive approach to reducing HIV transmission in the area.
