𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲: October 23, 2025, 7:00am

The 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗔𝗽𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲 𝗧𝗲𝘀𝘁 (𝗡𝗮𝗠𝗠𝗔𝗧) is a standardized aptitude test mandatory for all incoming freshmen of Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering (BSMarE) and Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation (BSMT) program. It is designed to assess an examinee’s readiness for seafaring and maritime college by measuring the prerequisite skills necessary for higher-level coursework. It focuses on evaluating foundational abilities that indicate potential for future learning, rather than assessing mastery of a specific subject area or curriculum. (NaMMAT Bulletin of Information)

𝗡𝗮𝗠𝗠𝗔𝗧 𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀:

1. Personal and Interpersonal Traits (Organizational Aptitude, Management Abilities, Leadership Skills, Attitude and Adaptability - 107 items for 1 hour)

2. Academic Proficiency and Reasoning Skills (English, Mathematics, Science and Reasoning - 130 items for 2 hours and 15 minutes)

The NaMMAT is free of charge.

𝗘𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆

The NaMMAT is required for individuals who intend to undertake an approved maritime education program leading to the certification as Officer-In-Charge of a Navigational Watch or Officer-In-Charge of

an Engineering Watch. It is open to both Filipino and foreign individuals who are:

1. senior high school graduates,

2. graduating senior high school students in the current school year, or

3. degree holder or those who have previously completed some college-level courses.

Note: Orientation for takers will be conducted few days before the exam day.
